Testfire Initiative

Testfire Initiative is a fast-paced, print-and-play skirmish wargame where prototype war machines clash in chaotic live-fire exercises on a forgotten colony world.

On the abandoned planet Arax, the greatest military minds of the Sadurian Union test their most experimental weapons systems under real battlefield conditions. Remotely piloted by daring operators, these prototype machines battle for combat data, bragging rights, and glory in high-stakes skirmishes.

Gameplay

• Quick, tactical skirmishes on a compact 8x8 grid.
• Each player commands a squad of 4 unique units with distinct personalities, weapons, and abilities.
• Alternating unit activations keep both players engaged at all times.
• Simple but deep mechanics: movement, direct fire, area attacks, pushing enemies, ramming, etc…
• Games typically last 10–15 minutes, making it perfect for quick matches or multiple rounds in one evening.
• Modular terrain to easily change the board layout and keep things fresh

This game is heavily inspired by battletech and other similar games but I wanted to make it more accessible so people new to wargaming can have fun with it without spending hours reading through dense rulebooks and bogged down by super complex rules… anyways,
